Quinnell ready to lay his body on the line
January 9, 2002

llanelli's Scott Quinnell is willing to put his body on the line once again this weekend as the Scarlets look to qualify for the Heineken Cup quarter-finals against Leicester.

The Welsh side need to beat the English champions if they are to clinch a quarter-final place.

Quinnell, who came on as a second half replacement in a crushing defeat against Perignan last weekend, is still recovering from a knee injury but is determined to play his part this weekend.

"The game nowadays is intense but you just have to get on with it," Quinnell told the South Wales Echo.

"What you have to do is ensure you keep on going as at the end of the day it is your job. Unfortunately most of my season has been hampered by injury, but I will continue to give one hundred and ten per cent for the club.

"I feel good at the moment. I have been doing a lot of fitness work and hopefully I can now stay clear of injury. But I can't wait for Saturday's game and we all know how important it is to get a win.

"There will be a full-house here and there is no better place to play rugby. The game is all about playing matches of this size and stature and that is why we all love it."
