Parker Pen Shield team news
January 11, 2002

London Irish have made nine changes for their final pool game in the Parker Pen European Shield against Dax knowing a win will also clinch a quarter-final place.

Injuries to Richard Bates (shoulder), Darren Edwards (elbow), Jeff Fahrensohn (back), Eddie Halvey (knee) and Neal Hatley (arm) keep them out of a side that includes player-coach Brendan Venter at centre. Irish won the game at Dax 29-22.

Harlequins make six changes for tomorrow's final Heineken Cup pool game against Bridgend at The Stoop.

In the backs, Chris Bell and Rob Jewell replace Will Greenwood and Dan Luger while Mark Mapletoft starts at outside-half instead of Paul Burke as Quins rest key men prior to the Powergen Cup quarter-final with Leicester in a week's time.

London Wasps include centre Fraser Waters for their trip to Paris to face Stade Francais, last season's beaten Heineken Cup finalists.
