Robinson ruled out for England

Jason Robinson has been ruled out of England's Lloyds TSB Six Nations Championship clash against Wales at Twickenham.

Robinson has not recovered form an adominal-muscle injury sustained during Sale's Zurich Premiership victory over Wasps three days ago. England must also go into the clash without prop Phil Vickery who is sidelined with an ankle injury.

England boss Clive Woodward has switched Austin Healey from wing to full-back. Harlequins' Dan Luger comes in on the wing, as England look to bounce back from their Grand Slam-wrecking defeat against France earlier this month. Vickery is replaced in the front row by Bristol tighthead Julian White.

Bath's Danny Grewcock takes over from suspended captain Martin Johnson in the second row with flanker Neil Back captaining the team.

Woodward has also made changes in the back row - relegating Wasps number eight Joe Worsley to the replacement bench, switching Richard Hill from blindside flanker and calling up Leicester forward Lewis Moody.

Also on the bench, former England captain Matt Dawson returns to an England 22 for the first time since October - Harlequins' Nick Duncombe drops out - and Sale's Charlie Hodgson has recovered from an ankle problem to act as fly-half cover for Jonny Wilkinson.

There is also a bench position for Leicester full-back Tim Stimpson, who was drafted into the squad yesterday as cover for Robinson.

Woodward has full confidence in Healey's ability to fulfil the fullback berth. "Austin is arguably the most skilful player in the back division and I have got no issues with playing him at full-back," Woodward said.

"It is a blow to lose Jason, but these things happen. I think that it is a very exciting England back division.

"Austin offers us a lot of opportunities and we have got to get away from these stereotypes that players can only play in one position."

As for Worsley's demotion, Woodward added: "Joe had an outstanding autumn series of Tests, but I don't think that he has followed it through during the Six Nations in all three games we've played.

"I have no problem with Richard Hill at number eight and there is no doubt that Lewis Moody deserves his chance. I wanted to keep a pretty fast, dynamic back-row."

Woodward revealed a decision on Vickery's fitness had been left until this morning, but added: "Phil is clearly not right and Saturday is a big game for Julian White."

Woodward confirmed he always intended to start with scrum-half Kyran Bracken against Wales, despite his poor showing in the French defeat.

"Kyran has got the nod, but I am delighted to have seen Matt Dawson playing well for his club, and he was always going to come back once he got his form back," said Woodward.
