Sevens heaven for Woodward
March 25, 2002

Clive Woodward was full of praise for England after they beat Fiji 30-22 to win the Hong Kong Sevens.

England were forced to play without Phil Greening, who was cited two minutes before the deadline for alleged stamping during the semi-final victory over Wales.

But Joe Lydon's side came up with the goods to delight Woodward, who said: "The victory in Hong Kong makes this a fantastic weekend for English rugby and underlines the importance of seven-a-side rugby to the international team. All the players taking part will benefit hugely from this experience."
