Ryan warns there is more to come

Gloucester boss Dean Ryan warned his Premiership rivals there is still much more to come from his side after their emphatic 44-8 win over the Sharks today.

The club coach, whose side demolished last season's league runners up by scoring six tries, believes his side will improve more and more as the season goes on and as their confidence grows.

"In the first half there was a self-belief issue and that is why we didn't get into the game straight away," said Ryan after his side's second successive win. "But with more and more practice we will get better and better.

"There is no point talking about how much we won the game by because the potential to improve is still massive.

"Our lineout was poor in the first half but we put some good ideas together in the break and they worked - but they could work better."

Ryan also believes his side will benefit from the progress of the likes of youngster James Forrester.

The watching Clive Woodward would have been impressed with Forrester, who scored two tries and set up another.

"James came on and played a little bit of six, seven and eight. He has got huge potential," added Ryan.

"There is an awful lot he still has to learn but he is a fantastic player with great potential and he will benefit this side."
