Greening given chance to shine as flanker
September 11, 2002

London Wasps' Phil Greening will be out to impress this weekend after being dropped from England's elite squad but he will be switched from his usual hooking position to openside flanker.

Greening is no stranger to the role having played their towards the end of last season when injuries had ravaged the Wasps side. He will line up in a back row featuring England internationals Lawrence Dallaglio and Jowe Worsley.

This weekend flanker Paul Volley and lock Richard Brikett appear to be paying the price for the team conceding more than 40 penalties during their opening Premiership games against Newcastle and Bristol. Coach Warren Gatland warned that further problems would lead to selection changes.
