London Irish fullback Delon Armitage has been voted as the player of the series by fans following England's disappointing autumn campaign.

Armitage made his England debut against the Pacific Islands at Twickenham last month, and was one of the few positives to be taken from a series that saw England soundly beaten by Australia, South Africa and New Zealand.

Armitage racked up a massive 83% of votes after his battling displays put him on the map for potential British and Irish Lions selection at the end of the season. "I was delighted to make my debut for England last month and it is very pleasing that so many people thought I played well," Armitage said. "This endorsement from the England supporters themselves is a real bonus and is one that I very much appreciate."
