England have received a double boost ahead of their Six Nations showdown against Wales with centre Mike Tindall and winger Ugo Monye returning to training.

A statement from the Rugby Football Union said, "Mike Tindall is making a good recovery from his back injury and trained this afternoon. It is expected that Mike will be available for selection to face Wales on Saturday. Ugo Monye has also recovered from his back injury."

Tindall was withdrawn from the England squad to play the Azzurri after injuring his back during a gym session last Thursday.

London Irish scrum-half Paul Hodgson has also been called up to the squad in place of Danny Care, with the Harlequins man ruled out of the game against the reigning Six Nations champions due to an ankle injury suffered last week.

Newcastle Falcons' David Wilson and Leicester Tigers' Jordan Crane also trained with the squad today after they were brought in as cover for the front and back rows.
