Profile

Keiron Cunningham, veteran of over 400 appearances for St Helens, is the only player to have represented the same club in each of the Super League seasons. The loyal servant will be immortalised as a bronze statue when Saints move to their new stadium in 2011.

The Welsh hooker rejected overtures from rugby union - including from Sir Clive Woodward after the 2000 Rugby League World Cup - and numerous Super League teams through the years to enjoy continued success with St Helens.

Cunningham is a veteran of several end-of-season Dream Teams, and can also boast five Super League championships and seven Challenge Cup triumphs - most notably in 2007, when he fulfilled a lifetime ambition to captain Saints at Wembley.

Career high: Captaining Saints to the 2007 Challenge Cup at Wembley

Career low: When he was told he was likely to be sold, with Saints in financial jeopardy

Quote: Speaking about his decision to reject overtures from union, Cunningham said: "The money was ridiculous from the Welsh Rugby Union, but I'm a St Helens lad and I love the club. I just didn't want to leave."

Trivia: Cunningham was not even born when brother Eddie won the Challenge Cup with St Helens at Wembley in 1976.
