Judy Murray has named a strong British side for her first assignment as Fed Cup captain.

British No. 1 Elena Baltacha leads the squad, which Murray describes as "an exciting mix of youth and experience", with Anne Keathavong selected alongside teenagers Heather Watson and Laura Robson.

Murray, who was named as Nigel Sears' replacement last month, will take her team to Israel, where victory at the Europe/Africa Zone Group One event would hand Britain the chance to secure promotion to the World Group II.

Murray has named world No. 317 Tara Moore as the reserve for the 15-nation event which takes place between February 1-4.

"Our team is an exciting mix of youth and experience," Murray said."In Elena and Anne we're lucky to have two established Tour players who are great competitors and so passionate about representing their country.

"With Heather, Laura and Tara, we have three young and very promising players who will bring a lot of energy to the team and will be looking to make their marks. Our goal is to progress through the group and, while we know this will be tough, if we play to our potential it is achievable."
