WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko has cast doubt on the prospect of a June clash with David Haye, saying that the two camps are "miles apart" when it comes to finalising a deal.

Former WBA champion Haye retired from boxing in November when he turned 31, but said he could be tempted back into the ring if a bout with Vitali or brother Wladimir was on the table.

His trainer Adam Booth claimed in late 2011 that Vitali had submitted an offer to Haye, which was believed to be for a fight in March. However, those terms were clearly not to Haye's liking, and instead Vitali agreed to meet Dereck Chisora in February.

Haye subsequently confirmed that any bout with Vitali would have to take place in the summer, with reports saying June was a likely date - yet the bout is far from certain.

"We are talking to him but we are miles apart from anything," Vitali told BBC Sport. "It's not just money, there are so many points. I will fight him anywhere: London, Germany, the South Pole."
