Dos Santos v Overeem officially set for UFC 146

The UFC confirmed on Wednesday that, as expected, Junior Dos Santos v Alistair Overeem will headline UFC 146 later this year.

Dos Santos is preparing to defend his heavyweight title for the first time after beating Cain Velasquez via knockout. The man standing opposite him is arguably the only fighter in the heavyweight division who can make a legitimate claim to be a better striker than the champion.

On May 26th MMA fans will get to see which man comes out on top as Dos Santos v Overeem headlines the 146 card. The bout will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 26.

Overeem comes into the contest off the back of a superb UFC debut, when he stopped and retired Brock Lesnar. Previously he had been the top man in the Strikeforce heavyweight division.

Also on the UFC 146 card, Edson Barboza takes on Evan Duham while Dan Hardy returns against Duane Ludwig.
