Nadal still French Open favourite - Djokovic

Novak Djokovic insists Rafael Nadal remains the man to beat at the French Open, despite his shock early exit at the Madrid Open last week.

Nadal has now slumped to No. 3 in the world rankings after Roger Federer overcame Tomas Berdych to clinch the blue-clay title in Spain.

However, his record at the French Open is peerless - six titles - and on the red clay, few would bet against him, including the world No. 1.

"It is a grand slam where Nadal is always the top favourite and Federer and other players are able to win it," Djokovic said. "It's going to be interesting to see who comes out on top."

Djokovic made clear his dislike for the blue clay in Madrid, saying it was difficult to navigate the courts fluidly, but despite expressing his anger, he says that mentally he is in good shape.

"Physically and mentally I am fine. I am where I wanted to be. I am No. 1 in the world and I am winning grand slams," he said.

Meanwhile, in the world rankings, Juan Martin Del Potro moved back into the top ten, while in the women's game Serena Williams' Madrid Open victory saw her move up to sixth.
