Wiggins to compete in Tour of Britain
Tour de France and Olympic champion Bradley Wiggins has announced that he will compete in the Tour of Britain next month.
The 32-year-old is not participating in the ongoing Vuelta a Espana or next week's Tour of Denmark, after being given a month off by Team Sky after claiming a gold medal in the time trial at London 2012.
That means his next appearance will be on home soil, as he will be on the start line in Ipswich on September 9 for the eight-stage event around his home country.
"I'm doing the Tour of Britain now," Wiggins said. "It'll be nice.
"I'll try to stay fit between now and then so I don't embarrass myself! It'll be good."
