Nadia Petrova ousted Sam Stosur to reach the biggest final of her career at the Toray Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo.

Stosur had looked in good shape as she ousted Maria Sharapova in the quarter-finals, but she made a string of unforced errors as she succumbed to a 6-4 6-2 defeat.

Petrova extended her record against the Australian to six wins from nine matches as she wrapped up victory in an hour and 47 minutes.

Petrova will face defending champion Agnieszka Radwanska in the final after the Pole thrashed Angelique Kerber 6-1 6-1.

Radwanska, who qualified for the season-ending WTA Championships in Istanbul earlier this week, produced a classy performance as she dominated proceedings from the outset.
