Tsonga, Berdych boost London hopes in Sweden

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga boosted his hopes of qualifying for the ATP World Tour Finals in London as he eased into the quarter-finals of the Stockholm Open.
The top seed fired eight aces as he powered past Go Soeda 6-2 7-6(6) in an hour and 38 minutes. The world No. 7 will now meet Sergiy Stakhovsky in the last eight after the Ukrainian ousted fifth seed Feliciano Lopez 7-6(5) 7-5.
Another playing bidding to secure his place at the year-ending championships at the O2 Arena is Tomas Berdych, who cruised past Estonia's Jurgen Zopp 6-1 6-4.
Tommy Haas joined esteemed company as he secured his 500th career victory at the Erste Bank Open in Vienna. Haas reached the quarter-finals with a 6-4 6-2 win over Jesse Levine to become the 38th player in the Open era to achieve the feat - joining Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Lleyton Hewitt as the only active players to reach the milestone.
Second seed Janko Tipsarevic - currently ninth in the race for the eight-man finals in London - reached the quarter-finals with a 6-3 6-4 win over the talented Ernests Gulbis. Next up for the Serbian No. 2 is Aljaz Bedene, who reached his first ATP quarter-final with a 7-6(4) 6-7(2) 6-3 win over Donald Young.
Meanwhile, at the Kremlin Cup, top seed Alexandr Dolgopolov was dumped out by French qualifier Edouard Roger-Vasselin in the second round. The world No. 116 saved four match points as he hung on for a 6-3 5-7 7-6(6) victory.
