Tyson Fury's supportive tweets for David Price could pave the way for the British duo to meet in the ring in 2013, according to Price.

Former British and Commonwealth champion Fury wished Price, his successor in both belts, good luck for his upcoming fight against Tony Thompson on February 12, marking a thaw in what has been a frosty relationship between the two home-grown heavyweights.

"Hopefully we can fight final eliminator 4 WBC! If we both win our next fights," Fury added. "If we both win our upcoming fights it needs to happen!!! Come on promoters get it together!!"

Speaking to ESPN on Buncey's Boxing Podcast, Price said: "It makes a change. Tyson has a few different personalities, you've got to catch him on the right day.

"As long as a fight between me and him can happen, everyone will be happy, especially the public. As long as it happens either this year or next year then I think everyone will win."

Price faces Thompson at the Echo Arena in Liverpool on Saturday February 23 as he steps up his efforts to secure a showdown with WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko.
