Tottenham's busy summer of spending looks set to continue after Toulouse confirmed they had agreed to sell midfielder Etienne Capoue to the Premier League club.

Capoue's employers have confirmed that a deal, worth reportedly as much as £11 million, is in place for their French international, whose ability to slot into a defensive role may appeal to Andre Villas-Boas.

Toulouse president Olivier Sadran was quoted by L'Equipe as stating "he will go there" when asked about speculation linking the 25-year-old with a move to Tottenham.

While the ongoing transfer saga involving Tottenham's Gareth Bale has dominated the North London club this summer, they have been active in their early transfer trading with the signings of Roberto Soldado from Valencia, Brazilian midfielder Paulinho and Belgium winger Nacer Chadli.

The imminent arrival of Capoue will fuel the suspicion that Scott Parker's days at the club may be numbered, with Queens Park Rangers boss Harry Redknapp reportedly eager to bring the player he signed for Spurs to Loftus Road.
