Federer 'excited' to play Djokovic again

After being drawn with Novak Djokovic in the same group at the ATP World Tour Finals, Roger Federer has revealed he is excited to be facing the Serb for the second time in four days.

Djokovic came from a set down to get the better of Federer and reach the final of the Paris Masters on Saturday, and during their encounter the groups were drawn for the World Tour Finals at London's O2 Arena, with Federer landing Djokovic, Del Potro and Richard Gasquet in Group B, now being dubbed the 'Group of Death'.

And Federer will take on Djokovic in his opening match at The O2 as he bids to add to his record six triumphs at the season-ending tournament.

"It's unusual, no doubt about it to [play] back-to-back matches against Novak," Federer said on the repeat of last year's final, where Djokovic emerged victorious. "I'm always excited about those challenges."

Federer only secured his spot at the season-finale by winning his first encounter at the Paris Masters against Kevin Anderson, and after losing the final in Basel to Del Potro last weekend is relishing the prospect of going toe-to-toe with two men who have recently beaten him.

"With Del Potro, sometimes he wins; sometimes I win. Djokovic beat me, and maybe in three days I will have another opportunity playing him," Federer said.

"But [it's] different circumstances and a different stadium in a different place. Now the turnaround is so quick. I like that challenge, but it's not easy."
