Jarmila Groth needed just 38 minutes to book her place in the final of the Landsky Lighting tournament in China.

The top seed remained on course for her first WTA Tour title after powering past Edina Gallovits 6-0 6-1. Groth lost just six points as she stormed to the opening set, and a single hold of serve was enough for Gallovits to avoid the double bagel.

After fourth-round appearances at the French Open and Wimbledon, Groth has made steady progress up the rankings and is on course to break into the top 50 for the first time.

The Australian will meet Alla Kudryavtseva in Sunday's final after the Russian ended Chinese representation in the tournament with a 6-0 6-4 win over Shuai Zhang.

Meanwhile, in the Bell Challenge in Quebec, Tamira Paszek continued her stunning run of form with a 6-2 6-2 win over America's Christina McHale. A double break in each set was enough to secure the victory and a place in Sunday's final.

Paszek will meet Bethanie Mattek-Sands, who knocked out the only seeded player in the last four, Lucie Safarova, 6-2 6-1.
