Pardew rules out Carroll sale

Alan Pardew has reiterated his stance that Newcastle United will not be tempted into selling Andy Carroll in the January transfer window.
Carroll's stock has risen since the club secured promotion to the Premier League, with the striker proving his ability to operate at the top level with a string of high-class displays. The forward's efforts have not gone unnoticed and following the controversial decision to replace Chris Hughton with Pardew, talk has increased that Carroll could be lured away from St James' Park.
The England international said last week that he saw his future at Newcastle, but reports on Monday claimed Tottenham were readying a cash-plus-player package for the January transfer window. Pardew is aware that speculation will follow Carroll while he is playing to such a high level, but he has insisted the Magpies are not a selling club.
"It does get boring but it is not going to stop - it will never stop," Pardew told the Newcastle Evening Chronicle. "It won't stop because he's a talent and that's what happens at big clubs. We have to have a big-club mentality and hold on to our best players."
Commenting on the reported interest from Tottenham, which has seen talk of a deal involving Robbie Keane and Peter Crouch heading to Newcastle, Pardew said: "It just goes to show you his value at the moment. Andy just has to keep working hard and doing what he does best. His career path is here.
"He has already proved that playing for Newcastle United will not hinder his international career so why does he need to go? He loves it here and loves the fans - long may it continue."
