Chelsea offer Grant quick return to football

Former West Ham manager Avram Grant has already been offered the opportunity to return to Chelsea, according to his agent.
Grant was sacked as the Hammers' manager after the club were relegated from the Premier League after defeat to Wigan Athletic on Sunday.
But it seems neither that or a previously underwhelming spell as Chelsea manager has put off Blues owner Roman Abramovich, who has offered the Israeli the chance to return to the club in a technical role.
Agent Pini Zahavi - who himself has close links with Chelsea - revealed the offer, although he believes the former Portsmouth boss would prefer to return to the dugout in his next employment.
"Avram will be back working in football and he will have better times," Zahavi said, according to the Jewish Chronicle. "He has an offer from Chelsea but I'm not sure that he wants to work as a technical manager. He would rather be on the touchline."
Zahavi also defended Grant's work at Upton Park, hitting back at the club's owners and claiming they never gave their manager the support he deserved.
"You must understand that the help he got in terms of player purchases was less than the minimum," Zahavi added. "If he had got the players he wanted, then West Ham would not have gone down.
"He did not want to make a fuss and made do with the financial situation at the club. But we knew that with these players it was going to be difficult to stay in the Premier League.
"Avram is gutted, not because he was fired but because West Ham were relegated."
