Russia's Enisei-STM stunned Newcastle Falcons in the Challenge Cup as they defeated Dean Richards' men 24-7 in Sochi.

Enisei-STM have already beaten Brive in this year's pool stage and the win over Newcastle is just the second time a team from outside the Six Nations have defeated a team from England's top flight in the Challenge Cup.

The hosts were 14-7 to the good at half-time after Denis Simplikevich and Davit Kacharava scored for Enisei-STM while Calum Green crossed for the Falcons. And the Russian side started the second-half the better of the two sides with Kacharava getting his second in the 42nd minute. Newcastle's attempts to get themselves back into the match were not helped by Mouritz Botha's 47th minute yellow card.
