Kaine Robertson sealed the win for Viadana with a late try

Viadana began their European Challenge Cup campaign with a shock 21-10 victory over Bayonne in their Pool 5 clash at Stade Jean Dauger. The hosts stole the early advantage with fullback Pepito Elhorga grabbing the opening try of the game that was converted by Daniel Larrachea converted. Viadana responded with a try from fullback Steve Bortolussi and Gary Law levelled the scores with the conversion. But the home side edged their way back in front before the break with a Larrachea penalty and held that lead until the interval. Viadana took charge of the game when Fijian international wing Isy Coalala touched down soon after the re-start and their victory was sealed when Italian international Kaine Robertson scored his side's third try in the closing stages of the match.
