London Irish thumped Dax 59-7 in their European Challenge Cup Pool 1 clash at the Madejski Stadium. Elvis Seveali'i and replacement Warren Fury both touched down twice while fly-half Peter Hewat scored 24 points as the Exiles notched their fourth consecutive bonus-point win to take a big step towards a home quarter-final. Seveali'i got the Premiership leaders on their way with the first try after just four minutes and Hewat converted before adding a penalty to stretch his side's lead. James Hudson notched their second soon and again Hewat converted to put the Exiles firmly in control. Dax held out for the remainder of the opening half but the pressure soon told after the break when fullback Armitage celebrated his return from England duty with the third try. Seveali'i claimed the bonus-point with the fourth try in the 53rd minute before Topsy Ojo and Fury added three tries in ten minutes to heap woe on the French Top 14 side. Jannie Bornman grabbed a late consolation for Dax before Hewat rounded off the scoring in injury-time.
