Brive remain on course for a European Challenge Cup quarter-final berth after a thumping 55-5 victory over Cetransa El Salvador in their Pool 4 clash at Campo de Pepe Rojo.

The visitors ran in a total of eight tries with Ben Johnston and Lachlan Mackay grabbing two apiece and Ben Cohen, Kevin Buys, Antoine Claasen and Vincent Forgues also getting on the scoresheet.

Fullback Alexis Palisson kicked three conversions while scrum-half Liam Davies weighed in with two. The Spanish side's only try came from lock Sergio Souto.

The victory sees Brive take charge of Pool 4 with rivals Parma and Newcastle due to meet later today.
