Bayonne proved too strong for French rivals Mont de Marsan with a 33-19 victory in their European Challenge Cup Pool 5 clash at the Stade Jean Dauger. Four penalties by scrum-half Cedric Garcia gave Bayonne a 12-9 lead at half-time before tries from wing Filimone Bolavucu, centre Vincent Invigo and replacement Louis Massabeau completed the victory. Scrum-half Cedric Garcia weighed in with four penalties and two conversion as Bayonne condemned Mont de Marsan to their fifth straight defeat in the competition. Mont-de-Marsan replacement scrum-half Philip van Schalkwyk scored the visitors' only try while fly-half Frederic Urruty kicked four penalties and a conversion.
