Newcastle Falcons secured a European Challenge Cup quarter-final berth with a thumping 43-14 victory over Cetransa El Salvador at Campo de Pepe Rojo, Valladolid. The Premiership side outscored their Spanish champions seven tries to two with Danny Williams, Mickey Young, Jon Golding, Rob Vickers, Tim Swinson, Phil Dowson and Matt Thompson all scoring. Fly-half Rory Clegg added four conversions. Cetransa's two tries cam e from fly-half Justin Wilson and prop Szabo Gaston with his No.10 converting both scores. The result sees them guarantee one of the three best runner-up places that will progress to the last eight and lines up a quarter-final clash away to Saracens.
