Castres scraped past a committed Albi side 25-21 at the Stade Municipal on Tuesday night, going third in the Top 14 and level on points with Clermont Auvergne. In a game that was rearranged due to the earlier outbreak of swine-flu in the Castres camp, the visitors scored three tries to nil, with Albi contributing all of their points through the boot. Castres fly-half Cameron McIntyre got the ball rolling with the first try just before the break, cancelling out penalties by Albi's Frederic Manca. A late drop-goal from Albi scrum-half Kevin Boulogne meant that Castres held a one-point advantage at the break, but wing Marc Andreu took only three minutes of the second period to extend the lead. His try was converted by fullback Romain Teulet and centre Yohan Audrin scored the third shortly after Manca had slotted another drop-goal for Albi. A later penalty from fullback Benjamin Lapeyre put Albi within touching distance of their second win of the season but Castres were able to hang on and trouble the upper echelons of the table. © Scrum.com
