  • Ospreys flanker Marty Holah has signed a one-year extension to his contract to keep him with the Magners League outfit until the end of next season.

The former All Black, who won 36 caps for New Zealand, moved to the Swansea-based region in November 2007 and has become a hugely influential figure at the Liberty Stadium, helping the Ospreys to reach the quarter-finals of the Heineken Cup during each of the last three seasons and to win the Anglo-Welsh Cup in 2008.

The former Waikato openside said: "It's great that I've been able to tie up a new contract, allowing me to focus on what looks like it's going to be a pretty exciting few months between now and the end of the season.

"I've been pretty happy with the way things have gone this year, after the hard work of the last couple of seasons I get the feeling that there's something special building here and I thought that I'd like to stick around and be a part of it."

  • Northampton Saints have announced that Calum Clark, one of England's highest-rated young forwards, is joining the club in the summer.

Despite being just 20-years-old, Clark is already established at Guinness Premiership level, and became the youngest forward to play in the league when he made his debut for Leeds Carnegie in September 2007.

"It's going to be a real fight for me to get into the squad," Clark said. "I'm under no illusions about that, and I'll have to get my head down and graft and then make the most of my opportunities if I get them. There are some quality players at Northampton and hopefully being around them will improve my own game."
