Munster have suffered a major blow with confirmation that Paul Warwick will leave the province at the end of the season.

The versatile Australian, who has made 80 appearances in red at either fullback or fly-half, is yet to confirm his destination but it is understood that Munster were fielding big money offers for his services from other European teams.

The former Sevens international had been set for a move to the Premiership with London Irish at the end of the 2008-09 season but opted to remain in Ireland on that occasion.

"We felt the need to address the recent speculation about my future by confirming my intention to move," he said. "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here with Munster and hope I can contribute in helping the squad achieve the goals we set for ourselves at the start of the season."

Munster boss Tony McGahan wished Warwick well for the future, having seen him boot them to a famous win over the touring Wallabies in November.

"We are of course disappointed that Paul will be leaving us at the end of the season," he said. "He has been a quality player who significantly contributed at both fullback and fly half over the past four seasons. We understand the reasons for his decision and he leaves with our best wishes both professionally and personally."
