Cardiff Blues duo Gareth Williams and Deiniol Jones have been forced to withdraw from Wales' Six Nations squad due to injury.

Hooker Williams was forced from the field against Scotland two weeks ago with a knee problem while Jones lasted for 25 minutes of Wales' defeat to France on Friday before succumbing to a rib injury. The game marked Jones' first Six Nations start as he was paired with Bradley Davies in the second-row.

Wales coach Warren Gatland has not indicated that he will call up any replacements, with the squad now down to 32 players. Alun-Wyn Jones heads the injury list while hooker Matthew Rees and prop Gethin Jenkins have both been out of action in recent weeks. Flanker Andy Powell remains suspended following his arrest for drink-driving.

Gatland will release 14 players back to the regions this weekend as a round of Magners League matches are on the horizon. Mike Phillips will continue his return from injury in the Ospreys' away game against Edinburgh at Murrayfield while Andrew Bishop, Dan Biggar, Tom Prydie, Kristian Phillips and Ian Gough are also in the mix for selection.

Dan Lydiate and Luke Charteris will be available for the Dragons as they take on Munster, with Rees and Ken Owens released for the Scarlets' meeting with Ulster. Tom Shanklin, Tom James and Sam Warburton will turn out for the Blues against Leinster.
