Biarritz swept Zebre aside 32-6 in their Heineken Cup clash in Parma to keep their feint quarter-final hopes alive.

The hosts lost fullback Paolo Buso to a yellow card in the opening minutes of the game and his side were playing catch-up from that point. Biarritz scrum-half Dimitri Yachvili punished his indiscretion with a successful penalty and centre Benoit Baby was soon celebrating the opening try. The conversion and another penalty from Yachvili put them firmly in control of the contest with less than a quarter of an hour on the clock. Zebre did respond with a couple of penalty goals from Luciano Orquera but fullback Marcelo Bosch crossed for Biarritz's second before the break.

Biarritz had to wait until midway through the second half for their third score with Bosch once again the provider. Yachvili's conversion was his last contribution before he made way with Seremaïa Burotu collecting the try bonus point for with just five minutes remaining.

Biarritz take on group leaders Harlequins, who have already qualified for the last eight, at Parc des Sports Aguilera next Friday night but their hopes of claiming one of the best runners-up spots rest in the hands of others.
