Harlequins have completed the signing of Sharks fly-half Tim Swiel.

Swiel impressed on a four-month loan spell at Quins earlier in the season and Conor O'Shea has now offered him a full-time deal. Swiel, 21, is English-qualified and O'Shea is looking forward to working with him again.

"Tim made a real impact in incredibly trying circumstances whilst with us on loan earlier in the season and we are delighted that the Sharks have granted him his release to come back to us on a full time basis," O'Shea said. "He is a young player with a huge amount of potential and also someone who showed mentally that he is able to cope with anything thrown at him.

"We are all looking forward to getting him back here and working with him from next season."

Swiel added: "It is with great excitement that I am committing to Harlequins full time. The decision wasn't a tricky one due to the fact I had such a great time on my loan spell. The Harlequins set up and supporter base is amazing and I can't wait to wear the quarters again.

"Quins have very good young players coming through which bodes well for the future and I'm grateful to hopefully be part of that legacy."
