Daniel Abt has risen quickly through the motor sport categories since finishing second in the ADAC Kart Championship in 2007. The following year Abt was eighth in the ADAC Formula Masters and then stayed on for a second season to win the championship.
In 2010 he finished second in the ATS Formula 3 Cup, then moved up to the Formula 3 Euro Series the following year and finished seventh overall while also securing fourth place in the FIA Formula 3 International Trophy.
2012 saw Abt progress to the GP3 Series and engage in a tight battle for the championship before eventually finishing runner-up to Mitch Evans at the final round. That didn't stop him graduating once again, however, as Abt will compete in GP2 for ART in 2013.
