Profile
Gene Hartley competed in nine Indianapolis Grand Prix in the 1950s and was a regular top 20 finisher. He was the son of a midget car racer and once said: "Auto racing is all I have ever known". In later life he joined up with Leroy Warriner as promoter of the Kirtley Avenue speedway at Indianapolis, retaining a special interest in midget racing.
