Stefan GP has not been granted an official entry to the 2010 world championship, meaning only 12 teams will contest this season.

The Serbian outfit had been hoping to replace US F1 after it emerged the American team was not able to make the grid. However, despite Stefan GP developing Toyota's 2010 package and negotiating contracts with Jacques Villeneuve and Kazuki Nakajima to drive, the FIA said "it is not possible for a replacement team to be entered for the championship at this late stage".

The FIA added that it would announce a new selection process to fill gaps in the 2011 grid in the coming days. US F1 has already made clear its intention to reapply for 2011, and when Stefan GP first took hold of its chassis, it said it would test throughout the 2010 season in preparation for 2011 if it was not granted an entry.

The entry list also confirmed that Campos will be renamed HRT F1 Team, while BMW Sauber will hold onto the "BMW" part of its name despite the German manufacturer pulling out of the sport and the team using Ferrari engines.
