Ex-HRT test driver Ma Qing Hua will get behind the wheel of a GP2 car at Jerez this week as the F1 feeder series gets its pre-season testing underway.

Ma will test for Caterham Racing alongside Sergio Canamasas this week as GP2 returns to action for the first of two three-day tests on Tuesday. Ma took part in four free practice sessions for HRT last year and drove at the Young Driver Test at Silverstone.

The GP2 test will be his first taste of the feeder series although there has been no mention of a race drive yet.

"I am looking forward to testing with Caterham Racing in Jerez next week," Ma said. "This will be my first time in a GP2 car and it is a great opportunity for me to learn the car and work with such a professional team."

Canamasas took part in 10 GP2 races last year but failed to score a point.

"I am very happy to test with Caterham Racing in Jerez and I am looking forward to it," he said. "My target will be to develop the car and to show good performance. We are going to put everything in to the test and I feel sure that the preparation I have done over the last three months will show."
