Car back at its best - Grosjean

After finishing on the podium at the Bahrain Grand Prix, Romain Grosjean said his Lotus is back to how he wants it.

Grosjean showed impressive pace over a three-stop strategy but had to pit once more than team-mate Kimi Raikkonen, who finished one place ahead of him in second. Grosjean explained that he had to make his first stop earlier than planner, but was buoyed by the pace of the car as he battled back through the field to take his first podium of the year.

"It was a good race and I mainly enjoyed it with a lot of overtaking going on throughout the race," he said. "It wasn't the easiest one because the strategy was to go long into the first stint, but we had debris in the front of the radiator and in front of the rear drum so we had to stop as the temperature was going up and that meant strategy was going to be very difficult. But my engineer kept me posted all race saying the pace was good. I felt the car was back to how I wanted to have and we were able to play with and we can see that it is much quicker over a race."

Grosjean had a new chassis for the Bahrain Grand Prix after struggling to get to grips with his car at the opening three rounds. He is now aiming to consistently finish higher at the coming races.

"It wasn't an easy first three races but I consistently scored points in all of them. I'm now back with the consistency and at a higher level of performance so let's keep working hard and I'm sure we can achieve good things."
