Paul di Resta believes it isn't realistic for Force India to hold on to fifth place in the constructors' championship because he is sure McLaren will recover from its poor start to the season.

Force India has enjoyed a consistently competitive start to the year, taking 32 points from the opening five races to leave it three points clear of McLaren. However, despite a lack of obvious progress for McLaren in Barcelona, di Resta thinks Force India should be focusing on the job it has been doing compared to its usual competition.

"McLaren is a strong team and they will keep improving, but in the races so far we have been fighting them and we've often been quicker," di Resta said. "Realistically, though, we are doing a great job regularly beating our direct rivals - Sauber, Williams and Toro Rosso. Our strength has been our consistency - we have been performing well in each of the races so far, and we are now looking forward to the Sundays with confidence."

Di Resta's team-mate Adrian Sutil has failed to score a point since starting strongly in Australia, but he says he's sure his luck will change.

"Despite everything that has happened during the last four races, I remain positive," Sutil said. "Most of the things that happened were out of my control, but still I believe we can improve certain things to avoid mistakes in the future. We as a team have to stay confident and work on solving these small problems. The car is fast and if we have a perfect weekend, which is our aim all the time, I'm sure the podium will come soon."
