Silverstone has confirmed that it will host a Young Driver Test at the circuit from July 17-19.

Last year's test took place the week following the British Grand Prix, with Williams, Marussia and HRT remaining at the track to run its young drivers for two days. This year the British Grand Prix is the first of back-to-back races with the German Grand Prix, meaning the test has had to be delayed until after the race at the Nurburgring.

As a result Silverstone confirmed on Twitter that the test will take place over three days from July 17-19 ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix. Last year there were two other tests in addition to the one at Silverstone, with Ferrari, Mercedes and Force India running at Magny-Cours in September and the rest of the teams completing a test at the Yas Marina circuit following the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

The Young Driver Test is set to be removed from the regulations as part of a new proposal to allow in-season testing on four separate occasions in the week following a grand prix in Europe.
