Mark Webber says he expects Sebastian Vettel to move to Ferrari in two years when his Red Bull contract ends.

Kimi Raikkonen was announced as Fernando Alonso's team-mate for 2014 earlier this week as he signed a two-year deal to return to Ferrari. That means Raikkonen will be out of contract at the end of 2015 - when Vettel's Red Bull deal also expires - and even though Alonso will have another year to run on his deal, Webber believes Ferrari will then move for the current world champion.

"There are so many reasons why it's a bit of a gamble to help Ferrari," Webber told Sky Sports. "Two years for probably both of them, actually. I think [no more] over that. What they do after that, obviously, is pick Seb up off the back of Red Bull and they keep moving from there.

"It's a very short-term, aggressive statement from Ferrari to put the team at the front."

Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo said at the end of 2012 that when Alonso chooses to leave Ferrari he would like to bring in Vettel as his replacement.
