Jenson Button said getting held up behind Kimi Raikkonen in the second sector of his qualifying lap in Korea meant he missed out on a top ten grid position.

Button qualified 12th and will start 11th once Mark Webber's grid penalty is applied, but he believes he could have made the top ten if he'd had a clear run.

"Traffic was an issue and I lost about a tenth and a half behind Kimi in turns 11 and 12," he said. "That's frustrating because they are quick corners so if you are close to a car it damages you and he was on an in-lap. That's a pity because I would have been in the top ten and a lot happier."

Button said he is confident of making progress in Sunday's race and is eyeing the opening part of the lap to make some moves.

"We've got new tyres, which is a positive and turns one, two, three and four are always interesting. We've got interesting straight line speed compared to our competitors, in terms of ratios and downforce levels so the first couple of laps will be quite interesting."
