Red Bull will hold onto its head of aerodynamics Peter Prodromou for as long as it possibly can, despite McLaren revealing the news that it has lured him back to Woking.

McLaren has confirmed it has agreed a deal for Prodromou to return to its team after he left to join Red Bull in 2006. However, Red Bull boss Christian Horner has made clear that Prodromou will not be released from his contract early, meaning he will not swap teams until 2015.

"Peter's a valued member of the team, he's making a valuable contribution and we have got tremendous strength and depth within the team," Horner said. "The content of any contract is obviously confidential, but the duration of his contract runs for quite a while yet and we are certainly in no rush to release him early. He will be with the team until the end of his existing agreement."

Asked if Prodromou would continue to work on the team's car in the meantime, Horner added: "Well, that's what he did with McLaren before he came to us..."
