Red Bull has named Sebastien Buemi and Antonio Felix da Costa as its reserve driver line-up for 2014.

It will be Buemi's third year as the team's test and reserve driver having carried out the role since alongside World Endurance Championship duties since losing his seat at Toro Rosso at the end of 2011, having competed in 55 grands prix before that.

Felix da Costa was tipped to replace Daniel Ricciardo at Toro Rosso next season after Ricciardo was promoted to the vacant Red Bull seat in 2014, but surprisingly he was overlooked in favour of Daniil Kvyat. However, the team has retained him as a test and reserve driver, with Felix da Costa having some experience of the Red Bull car from young driver test appearances.

Team principal Christian Horner hinted that both drivers may have a role to play during next year's in-season tests.

"It's great to be able to announce the signing of Sebastien and Antonio for 2014," Horner said. "Next year sees the biggest change to the Formula One regulations for some time and the return of multiple in-season tests. To therefore be able to call on two such capable drivers is of huge benefit to the team.

"In Sebastien we have a great resource, a driver with extensive grand prix experience and that will be invaluable. Antonio, on the other hand, is an up-and-coming talent with whom we already have a good working relationship. I'm sure that his contribution will be just as important during what is sure to be an intensely busy season."
