Adrian Sutil is confident he will score the first podium of his career at Sauber as he prepares to join the team at the start of next year.

In his six seasons at Force India (known as Spyker in 2007), Sutil's best result was a fourth place finish at the 2009 Italian Grand Prix after qualifying second on the grid. Next year he will move to Sauber and he is hoping the switch will finally bring him a podium

"I'm convinced that we will have a successful time - and I'm looking very much forward to my first podium," he told the official Formula One website. "Sauber have had some podiums in the past and that is exactly what I want."

He said Sauber had been his team of choice since deciding to part ways with Force India.

"We were in contact for a long time," he added. "It had been my wish to have a change after six good years with Force India - and Sauber was my priority. My Manager has been in contact with them since autumn - and around that time I visited the factory in Hinwil for the first time."

Next year drivers will get to choose which number they run for the rest of their career and Sutil is confident he will get his first choice.

"I have picked my number already - and yes, my favourite was available - but it will be a secret until it is official!"
