Williams further expands engineering team
Williams has announced the signing of three new engineering personnel as it expands its team ahead of the 2014 season.
The headline signing is the acquisition of Jakob Andreasen, who joins the team from Force India and will take on the role of head of engineering operations, working under chief technical officer Pat Symonds.
Williams has also signed Craig Wilson as head of vehicle dynamics from Mercedes, while Rod Nelson joins from Lotus to become the team's chief test and support engineer. The team has also announced the promotion of Max Nightingale to head of vehicle science to work under Andreasen, and Symonds says Williams is putting together an exciting engineering team.
"Williams is determined to make strong improvements in our competitiveness over the coming seasons and these new appointments continue our aggressive approach in recruiting some of the sport's best talent," Symonds said. "We are also committed to allowing our existing talent to grow and showcase their skills in senior leadership roles. Our engineering team for the coming season is looking strong and I'm excited about what we can achieve moving forwards."
The announcement follows the team's signing of two aerodynamic personnel back in December, with Dave Wheater joining from Lotus and Shaun Whitehead being recruited from Red Bull.
