Adrian Sutil will start from the back of the grid at the Bahrain Grand Prix after being handed a five-place penalty for impeding Romain Grosjean in qualifying.

Sutil originally qualified in 18th place but held up the Lotus driver in the later stages of Q1, with stewards ruiling he "forced car eight [Grosjean] off the track between turns 13 and 14 in an unsafe manner." Sutil has also been given two penalty points on his licence.

As it turned out, Grosjean progressed from Q1 by the skin of his teeth while Sutil did not make the second session. He becomes the second person after Daniel Ricciardo to be handed a grid penalty for Sunday's race.
