Hamilton relationship 'very difficult' - Rosberg
Nico Rosberg admits he and Lewis Hamiton are walking a "fine line" in their bid to win the world championship but still both keep Mercedes at the centre of their priorities.
Rosberg currently leads Hamilton by 14 points after Germany despite having four victories to the Brit's five. Much has been made of the pair's relationship, which stretches back to their karting days, and Rosberg thinks both are on the limit of what is acceptable as team-mates and what is not.
"It's difficult, very difficult," Rosberg said when asked how he found managing the relationship with Hamilton. "Internally we need to find the balance also because in the first instance we're racing for Mercedes, representing Mercedes and want to do a good job for them. We're also representing the thousand plus people - my colleagues - at the factory who have families who depend on us. So we need to work as a team but there comes a point where you want to beat the other guy. It's a fine line."
The situation between the pair has not blown up in the way some feared, though it came close in Monte Carlo, and Rosberg thinks the Mercedes management deserve credit.
"It's a very, very difficult job. There are more difficult periods to manage the whole situation and really we're very fortunate because we're set up really well from that point of view. The three of them - Niki, Toto and Paddy - of course more Toto and Paddy who are the more day-to-day running people, I'm grateful to the way that they have managed the team and the situations. They've done a good job and it will remain a challenge."
