Vandoorne takes victory in Hungary sprint race
Stoffel Vandoorne won the GP2 sprint race at the Hungaroring from second on the grid, taking victory ahead of series leader Jolyon Palmer and Felipe Nasr in third.
Vandoorne started from second on the grid but got a good launch to get ahead of Nathanael Berthon on the run down to the first corner. From third Nasr also managed to get past Berthon into Turn 1, while Palmer made progress in the opening laps to get ahead of Daniel Abt before also passing Berthon.

After their close battle in the feature race, Palmer then started spoiling for another scrap with Nasr . He made a lunge from a long way back to put his car on the inside into Turn 1 and made the move stick by running Nasr wide on the exit. Nasr was quick to get on the team radio to complain about the move, but the stewards found nothing wrong with it and allowed it to stick without further action.
Vandoorne, meanwhile, looked after his tyres at the front and controlled the race to keep Palmer at bay. He crossed the line with a comfortable 3.3s lead, with Nasr 0.9s off Palmer in third. Berthon managed to hold on to fourth ahead of Abt, with feature race winner Arthur Pic in sixth.
Conor Daly finished seventh ahead of Adrian Quaife-Hobbs, who took the final point after fending off Tom Dillmann in the final laps - a battle that ended at the chicane as the two made contact and Dillmann came off worse.
